What our guests say

Visitors Aitong Crater House
  • Excellent location right beside the most beautifull game reserves of the world. Spotted 4 out of the big 5 in one day. Here you get as close as you possibly can to authentic Maaisai culture. Kind staff who serve great meals.
  • The perfect place for a cozy evening fire with views all across the mara! Giraffes and zebras at your doorstep, big spacious rooms and beautiful sunsets! The chef prepared amazing food and the staff is friendly! A great escape for a family, a couple or a group of friends. I loved the stay.
  • An elegant place in and with the wild at your doorstep, literally; elegant rooms and luscious food to boot (the work of Mr Sitany)

The staff are gentle and helpful.

  • What a fantastic holiday we had with our family here in Aitong. The owner thinks along with you and helped us very well with the trip and also when we were there. A super beautiful house, well Villa with wonderfully sweet people who do everything for you to make it even better. Great chef and service, you feel like a king. The environment...... yes you have to experience that, the animals, the nature, the smell it is indescribable. We never wanted to miss this experience, beautiful memories forever.
  •  Castle look and feel. Great location, beautiful views in the middle of the best Kenya has to offer. You feel like a king. Small suggestion is to add a swimming pool. Thank you for the hospitality and experience
Visitors Aitong Crater House
  • Wonderful stay in a beautiful and unique location. Rooms are lovely and the food is excellent. Being so close to such wildlife made the stay that more special.
  • Set on highest point, amazing views and sunset. Great food, friendly and competent staff, got to see 4 of the Big 5 on our first game drive. A great array and variety in meals offered! Overall a great getaway to unwind and have a peaceful break !
  •  Aitong Crater House is serene place that provides the utmost privacy with a stunning 360 degree view of the Maasai Mara. I got to enjoy sightings of wildlife right from the comfort of the home - leopard, giraffes, zebras, dik diks, hyenas and elephants! Jos, the host, goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort. The cuisine is a magical delight topped up with a fine glass of wine. If you are looking for a place to unwind in the Maasai Mara in an intimate and quiet space I could not recommend this place more.
  • I Heard a lot of good stories about this place and I was not disappointed. Great view during the day time. At night the stars and moon are so bright. We had the chance to see many wildlife species during the game drives, too many species in fact with of course the big five including the leopard. Food was what I needed; good house cooking. Cook Julius and butler David were pleasant to talk with.
Visitors Red House Vipingo
  • Such a nice place. It is even more beautiful then we thought seeing the pictures beforehand. Margareth the cook has really the talent to prepare the food; her squid curry, fried fresh fish, prawns and lobster are my favorites.
  • The place is a kind of a paradise. A beautiful sand beach with a coral reef. The house is surround by a kind of a tropical forest with colobus monkeys (we saw also baby monkeys), sunbirds, flowers, etc..
  • Although it was hot inlands, the house and its terrace were very pleasant due to a nice fresh sea breeze. Very relaxing with the sounds of the waves and the waving palms. Good food.
Visitors Castle Vorden
  • Castle Vorden was really a surprise. A piece of history in a beautiful setting. The owners maintain the castle with great care and taste.
  • This castle is one of the gems in the 8 castles route. It can still be visited too.
  • Beautiful rustic surroundings with the castle as a highlight. Beautiful castle that can be visited. In the adjacent gardens is a restaurant where you can go for a snack or a drink, if the weather is nice also on the terrace.
  • Beautiful location / area for walking. Had great weather and the castle cool to see. Highly recommended to definitely go here and also great forest trails must walk the dogs.
  • Beautiful castle and surroundings very relaxing.
  • Great, you feel here again in the Middle Ages
